The Temple Israel Parenting Center is a place for babies and toddlers ages 0-3 and their parents to come together for support, education, community, and fun! We offer ongoing and one-time programs, lectures, and classes designed to provide resources for the unique challenges of raising young children in NYC and provide opportunities for families to engage with Jewish traditions and holidays. Programs are open to everyone and we invite you to join us!
Temple Tots is a grown-up-and-me class that offers a unique chance to build community with other families. Each week includes structured free play, along with art, music, movement, and circle time, giving our students an opportunity to explore school in a safe, nurturing environment. An introduction to Jewish holidays and traditions, including a weekly Shabbat celebration, is carefully woven into the program.
This is a year-long, gradual separation class designed to expose children, turning two in the fall, to preschool and to provide a bridge between “classes” and school. Children are encouraged to explore, create and grow in a small, warm and nurturing community. Our experienced educators guide this process and design an age-appropriate curriculum that includes opportunities to develop skills across all areas of learning. An introduction to Jewish traditions, celebrations and holidays are carefully woven into the program.

Each class is led by a movement and a professional live drummer, creating a dynamic and responsive environment where children experience rhythm in real time. Our program is distinguished by live drumming, exposure to world rhythms, and a developmentally informed approach supporting emotional regulation, language development, social connection, motor coordination, and confidence. Developmental movement patterns, along with nursery rhymes – the foundational building blocks of early literacy – are woven into each class to support the connection between mind and body. Teachers are trained to attune and respond to each group, using rhythm as a daily developmental tool.

Led by the beloved educators of T’kiya, this interactive class invites young children and their grown-ups to sing, dance, play, and explore Jewish traditions in a warm and welcoming environment. Each week, families will experience the rhythms, melodies, and spirit of Shabbat through engaging songs, stories, and hands-on fun. Join us for some indoor soccer fun! Stellar Soccer was created with one goal in mind: to set an atmosphere of fun, soccer learning in a stress-free environment. Our play-based curriculum is built through a rich setting of early childhood educators. Children will learn basic skills like trapping, dribbling, passing, and more!
A multi-sensory class combining movement, music, and sports-based play to develop early motor skills, coordination, and social interaction.
An introduction to sports including soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, and tennis through fun, guided activities that build balance and coordination.
Introductory and progressive cheer classes teach kids core skills including chants, motions, jumps, stunting, tumbling, and teamwork. Classes are grouped by grade to ensure a supportive and challenging environment.
This introductory golf program is designed with your 5-8-year-old in mind. Each class brings an exciting new theme, i.e., Ice Cream Golf, Space Golf, Arctic Animal Golf, and so much more! Students will learn to putt and full swing while improving on the fundamentals with an age-appropriate approach to stance, grip, aim, and posture. A fun and memorable experience for children that will have them looking forward to the next class!
This 45-minute adult participation class includes obstacle courses, circle time, bubble time, parachute play, and skill of the week! Through our proven curriculum, children will gain strength, balance, coordination, and focus – all while having a ton of fun in a supportive environment!
This 45-minute fun filled class is the first step in our Jodi’s Gym program! Children will enjoy an early introduction to movement and socialization. Children will enjoy circle time, bubbles, parachute, skill of the day, and age-appropriate obstacle courses while improving gross motor skills, mobility, balance, strength, flexibility, and cognitive development.
